New: Digital compact pyrometers with motorized focus for non-contact temperature measurement from 200 °C to 3000 °C

DIAS Infrared extends its range of pyrometers with the new PYROSPOT series 55. The new digital compact pyrometers in stainless steel housing (IP65, diameter 50 mm) are specially designed for industrial use. They are suitable for temperature measurements above 200 ° C, for example on metals, graphite or ceramics. A special feature of these pyrometers is the vario optics with motor focus. If the devices are installed in hard-to-reach places, the user can easily adjust the focus via interface and software. With a minimum response time of only 2 ms (t95), the devices can also be used for fast measurement tasks. On the back of the device is a clearly readable OLED display for displaying the measured temperature and other parameters.

The exact alignment of the pyrometers on the measurement object is possible with an integrated laser aiming light. Alternatively, an integrated color video camera can be used. This video camera facilitates installation in difficult local conditions, where the pyrometer is difficult to reach or the measurement object is not visible. Optionally, a through-lens sighting is available.

With the temperature linear standard output signal of 0/4 to 20 mA, the pyrometers can be easily integrated into existing measurement and control systems. The pyrometers have also a galvanically isolated RS-485 interface. Therefore the devices are bus compatible and use the Modbus RTU protocol. Connection in local networks can be supported by an Ethernet interface box.

The pyrometers can be parameterized via the digital interface with the PYROSOFTSpot software. Alternatively, motor focus and the emissivity or ratio correction parameter can also be set directly on the device using the buttons and the display.

The PYROSPOT DS 55N and DG 55N are suitable for temperature measurements from 550 °C to 3000 °C (spectral range 0.8 µm to 1.1 µm) or 200 °C or 2500 °C (spectral range 1.5 µm to 1.8 µm) respectively. The ratio pyrometer PYROSPOT measures temperatures from 500 ° C to 3000 ° C in two closely spaced spectral ranges between 0.7 μm and 1.1 μm and enables almost emisivity-independent temperature measurement.

These new pyrometers PYROSPOT series 55 will be presented for the first time from June 25th, 2019 at the trade fair THERMPROCESS (Düsseldorf, booth D78, hall 10).

New: Pyrometers with fiber cable and laser aiming light for non-contact temperature measurements from 100 °C

Very hot environmental conditions and difficult to reach measuring points make particularly high demands on the industrial process measuring technology. Pyrometers with fiber cable of the PYROSPOT series 11 from DIAS Infrared for non-contact temperature measurement are ideally suited for these demanding measuring tasks due to their small, robust optical head and separate electronic box. The optical head allows ambient temperatures up to 250 °C without additional cooling.

Based on state-of-the-art extended InGaAs photodiodes, the DGEF 11N type is manufactured within the PYROSPOT pyrometer series 11, which enables non-contact temperature measurements from 150 °C to 1200 °C in a spectral range from 2.0 μm to 2.6 μm. The electronic box has a large, easy-to-read OLED display, keys for parameterization, a 0/4 to 20 mA temperature linear output and an RS-485 interface (Modbus). With an integrated laser aiming light, the pyrometers can be accurately aligned with the measured object.

From now another temperature measuring range from 100 °C to 800 °C (wavelength range 1.5 μm to 2.2 μm) is available for the device type DGEF 11N. This is possible by the use of a special optical multi-fiber.

The new pyrometers will be presented at THERMPROCESS from June 25th, 2019 (Düsseldorf, booth D78, hall 10).

New fast pyrometers for non-contact temperature measurement in the mid-infrared spectral range

The mid-infrared spectral range (MWIR, wavelength between 3 µm and 5 µm) is of particular interest for applications in industrial non-contact temperature measurement. Examples are narrow band pyrometers around 5 µm wavelength for glass temperature measurement, around 4.5 µm (CO2 measurements), around 3.9 µm (measurements through flames) and around 3.4 µm (measurements on thin plastic films). Among others, thermopile infrared detectors have been used in these pyrometers. Consequently, due to the thermal time constants, only relatively slow pyrometers (response time between 10 ms and 100 ms) are possible.

DIAS Infrared is now expanding its range of PYROSPOT pyrometers, which are faster and more sensitive in the mid-infrared spectral range. This is possible through the use of new MWIR detectors. The first devices to come onto the market are the pyrometers PYROSPOT DA 44G for glass temperature measurement (around 5 µm, measurement temperatures from 50 °C to 2500 °C) and DA 44F for measurements through flames (around 3.9 µm, 100 °C to 2500 °C). The response time (t95) is only 5 ms.

These new PYROSPOT pyrometers will be presented for the first time from June 25th, 2019 at the trade fair THERMPROCESS (Düsseldorf, booth D78, hall 10). The new pyrometer DA 10G with a response time (t95) of just 1 ms is here also shown for very fast temperature measurements on glass (around 5 µm, 75 °C to 2500 °C).
