ArcelorMittal USA receives third Energy Star honor

On 1 March, ArcelorMittal USA was selected, for the third consecutive year, as a 2010 Energy Star Sustained Excellence Award winner for Energy Management. Each year, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy honor organizations that have made outstanding contributions to protecting the environment through energy efficiency. In 2008, ArcelorMittal became the first steel company to achieve this respected distinction. "Despite difficult operating conditions, our U.S. facilities remained diligently focused on improving energy management during 2009," said Mike Rippey, President and CEO, ArcelorMittal USA. "I commend our ArcelorMittal USA Energy Committee and employees for keeping energy a key focus area from the shop floor to the offices."
